Our newest Big Island ATV Tour is full of incredible vistas from the beginning until the end. Ride along the stunning Kohala Coastline as you cruise on top of 200’ grandiose ocean cliff sides. Your trek brings you to an isolated bay that once belonged to King Kamehamha, where you’ll enjoy a bird’s eye view of a 1930s-era lighthouse. Our local Hawaiian tour guides will share authentic history that will enhance your appreciation of the island’s unique beauty. These Big Island ATV Tours bring you high into the mountains through a refreshing eucalyptus rainforest and clear mountain streams. You’ll travel up to an elevation of 2000 feet of the most antique volcano on the Big Island and check out two waterfalls. This Big Island Tour provides a wealth of fun as well as refreshments.
Where we’re located...
From Kona: Travel north on Highway 19 until you get to the stop sign at Kawaihae. Here, turn left onto Highway 270. Continue through Hawi and Kapaau town. Outfitter Hawaii is located a little past the 24th mile marker, on the left hand side of the highway. Keep an eye out for our sign: “ATV Outfitters.” Take the first left where you’ll see a renovated cowboy cabin in the middle of an open green pasture.
From Hilo: Follow Highway 19 along the Hamakua Coastline until you come to Waimea. At the second stoplight, take a right. Remain on Highway 19 until you reach a small bridge. At the fork, keep to the right. You will now be on Highway 250. Stay on Highway 250 until it ends (about 25 minutes). Turn right at the stop sign onto Highway 270. We are situated on the left side of the road, a little past the 24th mile marker. Keep an eye out for our sign: “ATV Outfitters.” Take the first left where you’ll see a renovated cowboy cabin in the middle of an open green pasture.

- Single Rider ATV:
Must be at least 16 years old and 5'0" (152 cm) in height and weigh 100-300 lbs (40-136 kg).
Ages 16-18 are required to provide identification showing date of birth at time of check-in and if unable to will not be able to drive their own ATV and there will be no adjustment to charges.
Two Passenger Side by Side ATV:
Driver must be at least 25 years of age and 5'4" (162 cm) tall.
Passenger must be at least 5 years old and weigh at least 45 lbs (20 kg). Maximum combined weight is 500 lbs (226 kg).
Four Passenger Side by Side ATV:
Driver must be at least 25 years of age and 5'4" (162 cm) tall.
Passenger must be at least 5 years old and weigh at least 45 lbs (20 kg). Maximum combined weight is 700 lbs (317.5 kg).
Children must ride with an adult who is at least 25 years old.
Children ages 5-17 require parent or legal guardian (with legal guardianship letter) to be present.
Pregnant women and people who have had recent surgery or chronic back and/or neck problems may not participate.
All riders must wear long pants and completely covered shoes.
Safety gear (helmet) is mandatory and provided.
No passing, stunts, or reckless maneuvers allowed. You must stay on the trail at all times. All riders must pass the practice course.
